Dear Dancers,

Welcome to the Berkshire Youth Ballet (BYB) website.

BYB is an organisation aimed at young dancers, with the purpose of giving them the opportunity to perform with other dancers from around Berkshire and gain experience from being involved in productions with different teachers, choreographers and cast members. Our intention is to develop their knowledge and passion of dance by exposing them to new forms of dance as well as developing their ballet techniques.

A huge thank you and congratulations to all members and parents and helpers who performed or assisted in our first production; 'Secrets of the Seasons' . It was a huge success and many friendships were formed that I hope will last for a long time. We also formed an association with the South Coast Parkour team who joined our production as guest rescue fairies!

I am currently planning and writing the next production which will be performed in February 2009 (auditions on Sunday 8th June 2008)

The production is titled 'The Enchanted Toy box' and there are lots of exciting ideas going around. Those of you that attended the Ballet Master class on 30 th September and 20 th January will have had a taste of a couple of the Ballet pieces that will be worked on for the show. more

BYB has now commenced its second year; we are holding Master classes or workshops one Sunday a month in preparation for our next production. We have a great variety of master classes on offer this year, following the success of our first Ballet Master class of the year in September; we will continue to hold a monthly master class until the auditions. more

As always, new members (7-21 yrs) are very welcome and please feel free to bring along dancer friends or siblings, particularly if they are interested in being a part of the next production. Juniors must be working on a minimum of Grade 2 Ballet. All dancers must belong to a dance school and be working on their examination syllabus work for Ballet to join.

DON'T FORGET: Our most important objective is to encourage the dancers' passion to dance and enjoy themselves!
